Music needed!

February 10th, 2009

So I’m gearing up to begin preproduction on my first short flick here at USC. I have a story loosely outlined and I kind of know what I want… except the music. That’s where I need help. I’m looking for a high energy, bouncy, catchy song(s) from a smaller band that would let me get the rights to the song– and hopefully be thrilled to have their music in a USC short. For this project we can use any music we want, but I’m going to do it the hard way– I want to get the rights to the music for my movie.

Any suggestions?

  1. Skeleton Key – Margot and the Nuclear So So’s
Days Go On – Greg Laswell
Her Morning Elegance – Oren Laive

That’s all I got for now. It would help if I knew what was going on in the short so I could gear the music towards it. The last song isn’t as high energy (possibly only the chorus), but it’s extremely catchy.

    Hope it all works out…

  2. awesome, thanks for the heads-up! I think Margot’s on a major now, but I could be wrong…

  3. Give Jason Vigil a listen and see if anything fits. Contact me if you are interested in getting a CD.

  4. Have a listen…

  5. I happened to run across your site. I have no idea how it happened, but it did.

I don’t know if you still need any music, but your welcome to use any of our stuff. myspace.com/sightunseenmusic

If you’re looking for something high-energy, “Catharsis” might work. We have both instrumental and vocalized mixes, since we wrote all the music before we got a vocaslist.
