About a year ago Mitch and I were presented with an awesome opportunity- write an episode of the new HUB show “G.I. Joe: Renegades.” We pitched about 10 different premises, the one they picked, titled “Castle Destro,” airs 7:30 EST/4:30 p.m. Pacific on the HUB.

How’d this happen, you ask? Long story short- a TV producer read “Assholes” and thought, “these guys should be writing for children!” Funny, but essentially what happened. It’s even funnier because Mitch and I weren’t allowed to watch G.I. Joe as kids and had no idea who the characters were. Flash forward to when we wrote the episode and were doing outlines and rewrites, Mitch goes “this is really complicated. It’s like writing a law review paper.” I replied, “Yeah, but this has robots and lasers in it.”

Then they let me visit the voice recording session, watching the actors perform the dialog. That was pretty awesome too. Anyway, this marks our first professional writing credit. We’re both very proud of the episode- check it out on Saturday!
