Hi everyone! It’s been a long time… years, actually. I’ve been quietly making comics which will be released… someday… BUT the real reason for the update is as some of you know for the past six months I’ve been a writer for the CW show Legacies. This Thursday (11-21) the first episode I cowrote airs– it’s called “That’s Nothing I Had To Remember.” I also cowrote on another episode that airs in January. Cowabunga!
If you’re coming to WonderCon today–> Sunday be sure to stop by my booth in Artist’s Alley– G17. I’ll have the usual stuff (“Assholes,” “Anyone But Virginia”) as well as three new comics– “Dead Last,” “Sexiled” and the 164-page 10th anniversary edition of “Class of ’99,” which collects my Ignatz award-winning comic as well as tons of unpublished or unreleased stuff– featuring the talents of Megan Praz, Gregg Meller, Mitch Roth, Zoe Crockett, Matt Green and Andrew Kudlick.
Here’s the second of my three new comics I’ll be bringing to WonderCon later this month (March 25-27 in Los Angeles). It’s called “Dead Last” and it’s the follow-up to “Anyone But Virginia” (the Volcano Girl comic), illustrated by Zoe Crockett. I should note that this book has nothing to do with Volcano Girl whatsoever, but it’s our next collaboration. It’s a horror/adventure/murder mystery about what happens to the teenagers who live through horror stories. More news as it comes, obviously, but this and “Sexiled” should be available to purchase in the next couple weeks.
Over the next couple months I’ll be putting out three (!) new comics. One’s a compilation, the other two are new stories. I just finished one– “Sexiled,” which is basically the follow-up to Assholes.
Co-written by Mitch, I’ll be sending this to the printer on Monday. It should be available for purchase within the next few weeks and I’ll have copies at WonderCon. 28 pages, black and white, manga-sized– there’ll probably be four more chapters before we collect the whole series. Anyway, the cover’s above… more to come on the new books, which should all be ready for WonderCon next month in Los Angeles.
In celebration of the upcoming “Wet Hot American Summer” Netflix prequel, I drew this quick WHAS/AHS mash-up.
It’s been a long time since I’ve added new content, but I’m currently working on two new comic book projects– one with Zoe, one with Mitch– that when they’re ready you won’t be able to shut me up about. Stay tuned…
Check out my interview with the Alterna Podcast— and thanks to Tim Browning for an awesome interview. We chat mostly about my Alterna Comics book “Anyone But Virginia,” but also nerd out about comics, movies and music in general. Hopefully I don’t embarrass myself too much… take a listen!
